SK — province. Postal district S.
Saskatchewan does not observe daylight saving time, which makes it the single most useful Canadian region for finding a broken time zone assumption.
A worked SK postal code: S4X 8S2.

Most of Saskatchewan stays on the same offset all year while every neighbouring province shifts twice. So Saskatchewan is in one province’s time zone for part of the year and another’s for the rest, without moving. Any code that maps a province to a fixed offset, or that assumes all Canadian regions shift on the same date, is wrong for Saskatchewan for roughly half the year — and it fails quietly, as an hour, rather than loudly.
The Lloydminster area, which straddles the Alberta border, does observe the clock change — so the province is not uniform, and the National Research Council says “most of Saskatchewan” for exactly that reason. A province with an internal exception is a better test case than one without: code that resolves a time zone from a province code alone is wrong twice over here, once for the province against its neighbours and once for one part of the province against the rest. Anything that needs to be correct should be resolving from a location, not from a two-letter code.
Regina is the capital; Saskatoon is larger. This catches the same class of assumption as British Columbia, and having two provinces where it holds is useful — a fixture that hard-codes "capital equals main city" fails twice rather than looking like a one-off.
Saskatchewan’s rural addressing follows the prairie survey grid, with range roads and township roads carrying addresses far from any town. Rural routes and site-and-comp forms are ordinary here rather than exceptional, and they are what a mandatory-street-address form rejects.
Every Saskatchewan postal code begins with S, covering the whole province.
The records carry a province code, not a time zone. That is deliberate: deriving an offset from a province is the assumption Saskatchewan breaks, so the generator does not encourage it. Use the province code to look up a zone properly.
Saskatoon and Regina. Regina is the capital and Saskatoon is the larger of the two.
Because it is the cheapest way to find a hard-coded Canadian time zone. An application that handles Saskatchewan correctly is unlikely to be making naive offset assumptions elsewhere.
Every record is synthetic, generated for development, QA, testing, demos and staging. These records do not represent real people, and the addresses are not verified deliverable addresses.
